Lauryn Hill’s Mug Shot Released, Faces Three Years in Prison
Lauryn Hill is currently facing three years behind bars for failing to file her tax returns from the years 2005-2007. The 37-year-old critically acclaimed singer/rapper owes the government a whopping $1.8 million. On June 29th she plead guilty to the three misdemeanor charges which were filed in the U.S. District Court in Newark, New Jersey.
She was freed after paying a hefty $150,000 unsecured bond, but must return to court for sentencing on November 27th. Lauryn has openly stated in a public address letter explaining her side of the story that she intends to pay back the $818,000 from 2005, $222,000 from 2006, and the $761,000 from 2007.
Her mug shot was recently released, and the look on her face is a solemn one.
